Manual Therapy treatments
The manual therapist seeks to find the root cause of the symptoms with the Barvichenko-Lewit manual therapy method. The first session lasts 90 minutes and includes a thorough questioning/diagnosis about the pains and state of the patient. Afterwardsbegins the treatment. We look for functional joint-blockages that hinder the movement of one or more joints’ free movement. Such limitations may come from various traumas (ankle sprains, concussions, broken bones, over-stressing of muscles, one-sided use of certain parts of the body, etc.), or from issues such as length differences in the limbs, scoliosis, growth-development abnormalities or the long-time illness of an internal organ. These can cause various pains that can be treated effectively.
As a manual therapist – physiotherapy professional, my main aim is to offer my patients individual, tailor-made treatments for that part of the body, where it’s required. These treatments may include muscle-expansions, the improvement of the function of the muscles and various other improvement techniques. At the end of each session, you will be given homework exercises to be continued at home, ensuring your muscles and your body maintain their new ways of working.
I can effectively help my patients in the following cases: back pains, pain of the spine, knee and ankle pains, existing scoliosis or slipped disc, migraine related pains, ear-drumming, rehabilitation after accidents, lower-back pains.
In certain cases, manual therapy cannot be recommended or used: serious osteoporosis, tumors, inflamations, healing of the body right after a broken bone. For light bone athropy/osteoporosis, only certain kinds of soft-tissue treatments can be performed on a patient. It is also not possible to use this kind of technique in cases of inflamed states of the body, when in feverish states or pain experienced during states of resting (e.g. during night or resting).
